Days Of The Week Book Tag

Hi everyone! A little while ago I was tagged by my good friend Emma The Book Lover to do the Days Of The Week Book Tag, so I thought I’d give it a go!

Monday – A book you’re too lazy to read

I started reading Cinder years ago and only made in about a chapter or so in before I gave up for some reason. I’ve since heard many great things about the series, and I would like to give it another try, but I just can’t be bothered when I have so many other books I want to read more!

Tuesday – A book that was hard to finish

I read this book a few years ago for my grade 11 English class, and couldn’t stand it. English has always been my favourite class and I’ve never had a problem with the books we’ve read but this one I felt like I had to force myself through it! It just didn’t appeal to me at all.

Wednesday – A book you haven’t finished

It’s not that I didn’t like the book – I did! I was enjoying it, but just not enough that I wanted to read large amounts at a time, and it was taking me forever to get through. I made it through Italy and part way into India before I paused to read something else and never ended up coming back to it.

Thursday – A book you don’t recommend

This book was just weird. I went into it expecting it to be unique and interesting, especially after liking The Handmaid’s Tale so much and seeing how popular of an author Atwood is, but I was wrong. I had so many problems with the main characters and the plot just took so many weird turns and I think the only reason I was compelled to finish it was to see if she would keep topping the weirdness (she did). Either way, whether you’re a fan of Atwood or not, I would definitely not recommend this one.

Friday – A book you can’t wait to be released

The only books I’ve read by Leigh Bardugo are the Six of Crows duology, and they left me wanting so much more of this universe! The description of this book of short stories sounds so enchanting and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! I’m also going to make an effort to read the Grisha trilogy before it comes out just in case there are references that will be enhanced by knowledge of the trilogy.

Saturday – A book you want to reread right away

This book was so so so incredible and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since I read it 2 months ago! Usually that’s a pretty good sign that I’m in need of a reread!

Sunday – A book you didn’t want to end

I loved this duology so much, I could keep reading about the Dregs’ impressive heists and camaraderie forever!! I also think there are so many things Leigh Bardugo could continue to write about these characters if she ever chooses to go back to them, and I’m so eager to see where all their lives will take them now!

And that’s that! I think book tags are so much fun to do, this one included, and I want to tag some more friends to join in as well!

Let me know if you’ve read any of these book as well, and what you thought of them!

I tag:

Aurora from bookscoffeecats

Amber from ambsreads

  1. I’ve read Six of Crows but keep postponing Crooked Kingdom, simply because I don’t want it to end either, haha. “If I start reading this now, I’ll have to say goodbye and I don’t want to do that yet so I’ll just be sitting here staring at it every few hours.”

I’ve only started A Court of Thorns and Roses yesterday – shame on me – but it’s reading like no tomorrow! I took a break and was like “Oh, wow, page 150 already? How did that happen?”
I’m taking some time to check out new blog post, but secretly – not so secretly now – I cannot wait to go back to Feyre, haha.

You should definitely give Cinder (and the complete Lunar Chronicles) another chance! Because the hype was so big I was wary about reading them, but I loved them. Hope you will to if you ever get round to reading them. 🙂

    1. You should read Crooked Kingdom because it’s really good and if you don’t read it then technically it’s over anyways right 😉
I’m so glad you’re loving ACOTAR!! Honestly just wait until the second book because it’s like 400x better!
Also yeah I’ve heard Cinder isn’t as good as the other ones in the series! I will keep them on my tbr for sure and I really hope I can get around to them sooner than later 😂

      1. Hm, you got a point there! But there are so many books on my TBR-shelves that it’s starting to be absolutely horrifying.. Haha. I don’t even know where to start anymore. I do think I’m going to read the ACOTAR-series first now, though. I will not be able to ignore those other two books to read something else. No way!
No, the others are better but you can’t really start in the middle of a series, huh. Haha. You’ll get there!

      2. I noticed! I couldn’t stop reading yesterday. Literally just couldn’t. Think I’m about halfway through the book already so I forced myself to take another book to work today. Pretty sure I would’ve been reading at work if I didn’t, haha.

  2. YAY I am so happy that you did this tag! I lowkey didn’t even fully read Lord Of The Flies when we read it this past year, I skipped a few chapters in the middle and I don’t think I read the last one either LOL. It was just dull, I couldn’t, but I am glad to see that you agree with me!

I have an ARC of Leigh’s new book coming in the mail which I am super excited about, I’ll let you know how it is!
